Birth of Venus is a multimedia project incorporating sound healing, performance art, film and ballet.
The project will be presented in three pieces- a sound healing album with an accompanying performance art film and eventually a series of large scale performances.
The idea for the project began 6 years ago. It documents my own personal journey trying to heal the effects of trauma in my life. My hope for this project is that not only will performances be a large scale group meditation but that parts of the album will eventually be used as a trauma response session for people or groups suffering from extreme trauma.
This will be the first round of funding with a focus on recording the album and beginning shoots for the film.
My dream in developing this project would be to keep it as an independent venture- a project made with love by me and my friends.
In making this project independently I will be able to hire artists from vulnerable communities and pay them a living wage.
